Inkwell is a free, hand-kept web directory founded on a simple principle: the web is too vast and too valuable to be navigated by algorithm alone. We believe that a carefully maintained catalogue, compiled by people with an eye for quality, serves readers better than any automated ranking system.

How We Work

Each entry in Inkwell is submitted by the site's owner or operator and reviewed before being inscribed in the directory. We organise websites into 22 categories — from Culinary Arts and Academic Pursuits to Financial Markets and Tourism & Excursions — so that every visitor can find what they seek without wading through irrelevance. There are no paid placements and no advertisements within the listings themselves; every entry earns its place on merit.

Submission Policy

Submitting your site to Inkwell is free and always will be. We ask only that the site you submit is genuine, functioning, and broadly relevant to the category you choose. Spam, placeholder pages, and sites whose sole purpose is link acquisition will not be retained in the index. If your site is accepted, it will be listed alphabetically within its category alongside a brief description — either one you provide or one we fetch from your site automatically. We welcome submissions from around the world and across every legitimate field of endeavour.
